PR- Public Relations. Relations or relationships.
This is the name of the game with PR and landing podcast and print interviews.
For example, I pitched a client to a woman’s health editor. She loved the responses and picked the piece up. This writer has come back 3x for more features in Women’s Health and one that was even a full article about my client, including a request for a photoshoot.
This writer also has come back to me asking if I have any clients who could speak on other topics she’s writing about. This has resulted in other clients ending up in places like POPSUGAR.
So much of press is that relationship. When I am working with a writer, I am quick to respond, I follow directions of what they need, I organize items well, I follow up and ask for links because we would love to promote. These writers come back because the GBM way is to make the process seamless.
Here’s a secret too…
These writers are all mostly freelance meaning they write for more than one outlet. So we’re aren’t just building connections with Women’s Health in this example, it was Popsugar, Elle, and other publications.
